Fecal 16S rRNA Profiling of Gut Microbiota in Non-Functional Pituitary Neuroendocrine Tumors

This project investigates the gut microbiome composition in patients with non-functional pituitary neuroendocrine tumors (NF-PitNETs) and healthy controls. Using high-throughput 16S rRNA sequencing, the study aims to identify differences in microbial diversity and the presence of pathogenic bacteria, with a focus on understanding the role of gut dysbiosis in NF-PitNET pathogenesis. The research also explores correlations between microbiota changes and clinical characteristics of NF-PitNETs, offering insights into potential diagnostic and therapeutic targets. The data were collected from fecal samples and analyzed to provide a comprehensive overview of microbial shifts associated with tumor characteristics.
