Data from a Level 3 Analytical Buildings Record Survey at Aircraft and Commercial Tools, Bowling Green Street, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, July 2022 - March 2023

This digital archive comprises images, gis, report and site record data from a programme of historic building recording at the former Aircraft & Commercial Tools (Sheffield) Ltd premises on Bowling Green Street, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, S3 8SU. The work was undertaken by Wessex Archaeology between 18th July 2022 till 20th March 2023. The site occupies a complex of buildings on the north-west side of Bowling Green Street between South Parade and Ward Street. The oldest extant buildings recorded on site date from the mid- to late 19th century and were used for the steel and metal industries in Kelham Island, Sheffield, particularly Philip Ashberry and Sons. The site is partially located within the Kelham Island Conservation Area.
