Microbial diversity in paddy soil and soil-derived cultures

The goal is to evaluate the performance of different cultivation platforms (liquid, agar, hydrogel capsules, water-in-oil droplets, agarose beads), in particular hydrogel capsules, in supporting the growth of soil anaerobes (bacteria and archaea). Samples from different soil-derived cultures were analyzed to compare their microbial communities. The raw soil was also taxonomically profiled.
