Global Arable Land Redistribution Toward the Tropics and Drylands Under Urbanization

The “code” folder contains scripts and associated data required to reproduce Figs. 1–4 in the manuscript “Global Arable Land Redistribution Toward the Tropics and Drylands Under Urbanization.” The datasets used include: (1) global arable land fraction (GALF) at 1 km and 0.05° resolution; (2) Global Human Settlement Layer (GHSL) built-up fraction at 1 km and 0.05° resolution; (3) Köppen–Geiger climate classification at 1 km and 0.05° resolution; and (4) HYDE 3.4 historical land-cover reconstruction data (5 arc-minute resolution, 0–2024). The code is implemented in MATLAB R2024a.
