The caption on the back of the photo reads: "Hospital patients cooped up--Elderly mental patients in one of the senile wards at Eastern Oklahoma Hospital. There are more than 250 old patients at Eastern and, due to the shortage of attendants, they are cooped up inside the wards day in and day out. Note, also, the proximity of the beds.".
