This study firstly provided new insights into possible underneath mechanisms for using carvacrol and thymol to inhibit the conjugative transfer and dissemination of prevalent blaNDM-positive IncX3 plasmid in animal production. These findings provided new strategies for controlling antibiotic resistance.
