Zymoseptoria tritici suppresses the host immune response and facilitates the success of avirulent strains in mixed infections

Wheat (Chisenese Spring) transcriptome analyses during single and mixed infections by an avirulent and a virulent strains of Z. tritici. Overall design: We performed a comparative transcriptomic approach to of wheatresponses to i) a virulent strain ST99CH_3D7, ii) an avirulent strain ST99CH_1E4, iii) and 1:1 ratio mix of the two strains infection at early stages of 3 and 6 days post-inoculation, and iv) mock inoculation with water that we used as negative control. All treatments were done in triplicates.
