资源简介:

This dataset supports the study "Multi-scale drivers of repeated elephant use of baobab resource patches in the Sapi Safari Area, Mid-Zambezi Biosphere Reserve, Zimbabwe." The dataset contains measurements from 335 georeferenced baobab (Adansonia digitata L.) trees sampled across three river-distance strata (<10 km, 10–20 km, and >20 km) within the Sapi Safari Area, northern Zimbabwe. Variables include diameter at breast height (DBH), tree height, canopy diameter, elephant damage score, recovery score, river-distance category, habitat suitability values, visitation frequency, and independent revisit events derived from African elephant movement analyses. These data were used to evaluate the influence of landscape suitability, river proximity, and tree structural characteristics on repeated elephant use of individual baobab resource patches during the dry season. African elephant GPS telemetry data are not included because they contain sensitive wildlife location information and are subject to access restrictions imposed by the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (ZimParks).
