资源简介:
Project title:Production, characterization, and application of L-asparaginases from indigenous marine bacteria of the Arabian Gulf, Saudi ArabiaAuthors:Ghofran M. AL-Harbi, Essam K. Ghareeb, Ebtesam A. Al-Suhaimi and Mahmoud M. Berekaa* The bacterial candidate K-3 was isolated from Arabian Gulf shores, especially from the Al-Khobar region. The isolate K-3 was extracted from Planarians free-living flatworm as source of L-asparaginase-producing bacteria. L-asparaginase produced from this bacterial strain can be a promising sources of L-asparaginase enzyme that have a potent effect against different tumor cells thus can be used for cancer treatment.* The bacterial candidate showed a gram-positive coccoidal cells. 16S rDNA gene sequence analysis revealed high similarity to Macrococcoides caseolyticum strain thus given the name Macrococcoides caseolyticum strain ASP-K-3* Note: Planarians is a free-living flatworm belonging to the class Turbellaria, order Tricladida, found in diverse habitats like freshwater and marine environments. They are notable for their remarkable regenerative abilities, allowing them to regrow lost body parts and even retain memories after decapitation. Planarians possess a three-branched intestine, lack a circulatory system, and have a simple nervous system with a bilobed brain. Most species are simultaneous hermaphrodites, and primarily feed on small invertebrates.
