资源简介:
These records include files which relate to individuals; therefore, written approval from NSW Aboriginal Affairs must be obtained before access can be granted. These files pertain to such matters as: reports on conditions of reserves; case histories of ex-wards of the Board; acquisitions of land - purchase and construction of houses; repair and maintenance of properties; tenancies; home loans; education grants; exemption applications (permits to drink); and social and financial aid to Aborigines. Files relating to general administrative matters are also included. Many files contain maps and plans from the Government Architect's office; other files include black and white prints. The exemption applications usually contain photographs of the applicants. The files have been re-boxed since they were originally transferred as archives. At that time it was discovered that the connections between some files had been lost; in other cases single sheets or parts had become separated from their original files. Correspondence in these categories is located in [8/2754.1] (1945 and 1949 registered files) and in 8/3045 (which includes files and papers dating from 1938).In addition, a sample of silk screen printing, c.1964, which was attached to file C19981 in [8/2971.1] has been extracted and placed at [SR Document No.177]. This sample is a three colour design (red, yellow and blue), on linen, of a rural scene and has printed on it the words "Greetings from Kempsey".(8/2754A-3045, SR Document No.177). 511 boxes, 1 document.RNCG-13 [4/10796-4/10797] indexes the NRS-9 Correspondence files [8/2754A-3045].Note:This description, as amended, is extracted from Concise Guide to the State Archives of New South Wales, 3rd Edition 2000.
