NRS-305 | Registers of letters received

Up to 1886 these registers contain the following details: annual progressive number, number of previous papers (if any), date of the letter, date of registration, name and address of writer, to whom and when the letter was referred for action, the result, date of filing and number of later papers to which the letter was allocated. After 1887 name of writer, details of the address and the subject matter of the letter are omitted and the registers act as a record of movement and connection of papers only, and details of subject matter must be found in the indexes to the registers.(5/7884-7904 part). 21 vols (part).Note:This description is extracted from Concise Guide to the State Archives of New South Wales, 3rd Edition 2000.
