Fungal isolates from plastic-contaminated soils capable of biodegrading synthetic polymers

This project aimed to isolate fungal species with biodegradation potential from degraded plastic surfaces in plant-soil ecosystems. Fungal isolates that demonstrated superior polyester depolymerization were selected for whole-genome sequencing, proteomic, and metabolomic analyses to characterize their biodegradation mechanisms
