Variables description.

We used the mean and variance, both specified in D-PLACE datavase [60]. ** Monographies of each society are specified in S2 Dataset and were extracted from eHRAF dataset [61]. *** Homesteads: isolated domestic unit; Camp: temporary location of huts or other structures where households live collectively during that period; Hamlet: formed by few several homesteads, it can be both dispersed and clustered; Village: like the hamlet, it is composed by several homesteads and it can also be both dispersed and clustered, but the village has more homesteads.
