Sea2Cloud - Seawater - DMS climatologies

The file contains the latitude, longitude and monthly surface seawater DMS concentrations (UITZ) in nM for February and March, calculated using a new parameterization of oceanic DMS as a function of marine biological activity (the nanophytoplankton cell abundance) as identified in the Rocco et al. (2025) paper. Nanophytoplankton cell abundance to compute surface seawater DMS concentrations was derived from satellite data (Sellegri et al., 2021; Uitz et al., 2006) retrieved from 2007 to 2017. A corrected version of this climatology (UITZ_Phyto-corr) is also provided here, using a correction factor of 1.4 based on the linear regression between satellite-retrieved and in-situ observations (Rose et al., in revision, submitted to JGR-Atmosphere, Paper# 2024JD042088). The spatial resolution is 0.0833° for both climatologies.
