资源简介:
The diagnostic survey began in 2012 within the framework of the AfricaRice Agronomy Task Force (ATF) as it seeks to better understand local rice-based production systems in the hubs by: (i) identifying existing knowledge, production practices, technologies, and production constraints/challenges; and (ii) pinpoint bottlenecks and opportunities for technology adoption for yield gap reduction. Since the diagnostic survey is primarily a qualitative research activity, this research aims to provide an in-depth analysis of the processes related to rice-based production systems and answer why and how such processes exist in the hubs. The data collection techniques used in the diagnostic survey include key informant (KI) interviews and facilitated discussion groups (FDGs) with both farmers and other stakeholders (including research, extension and other agricultural advisory services) in the hubs. Quantitative and qualitative indicators were collected in 2012 (in 15 countries) and in 2013 (in 5 countries).
