This study further highlights a growing trend to identify ARSACS that has become increasingly prevalent worldwide rather than localized to a specific region or race. As more and more ARSACS patients are diagnosed, the genetic spectrum of ARSACS will gradually broadened, providing accurate genetic basis for prenatal diagnosis for mothers in the years ahead if possible.
