T. b. gambiense type I minicircle annotation and gRNA alignment

Next, we used the predicted fully edited mRNA sequences to identify gRNA genes in the 121 T. b. gambiense type 1 Mongo minicircles. To reduce false positives, we limited the maximum number of gRNA genes encoded by a cassette to three. Meanwhile, the same sequence may be aligned to alternatively edited mRNAs and recorded as distinct gRNA genes. We noticed in some alternatively edited mRNAs that certain versions had additional unaccounted-for editing sites, but the same editing sites were covered by gRNAs in other versions. The errors were due to the limit on the number of gRNA genes and were corrected manually by carefully comparing the editing sites across different versions.
