Excerpts: The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Food and Nutrition Service’s (FNS) Food Distribution Programs provide food and nutrition assistance to schoolchildren and families and support American agriculture by distributing high-quality, 100 percent American-grown USDA Foods. This report analyzes State-of-origin data for fiscal year (FY) 2020, which captures the quantity and dollar value of USDA Foods purchased from each State from October 2019 through September 2020, using regularly appropriated program funds. The five States with the highest dollar value of USDA Foods purchases from the State are California, Minnesota, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Michigan. Tables included: Table 1: Pounds, Value, and Value Per Capita of USDA Foods Purchased by State of Origin in Fiscal Year 2020. Table 2: Pounds and Value of USDA Foods Purchased by Food Group and State of Origin in Fiscal Year 2020. Table 3: Pounds, Value, and Value Per Capita of USDA Foods Used in Child Nutrition Programs Purchased by State of Origin in Fiscal Year 2020. Table 4: Pounds and Value of USDA Foods Used in Child Nutrition Programs Purchased by Food Group and State of Origin in Fiscal Year 2020.
