This in vitro experiment was conducted to assess the effect of prebiotic enriched Lipid-based Nutrient Supplement on the composition and short chain fatty acid production of colonic microbial communities originating from 3 undernourished infants living in a rural area in Burkina Faso, West Africa. The experiment was conducted in a dynamic human gut model, the Simulator of Human Intestinal Microbial Ecosystem (SHIME®).
