Plant-Based Biomonitoring and Cardiovascular Health Data from Urban-Industrial Zones
收藏资源简介:
This dataset originates from a case-control study conducted in southern Brazil, designed to investigate associations between air pollution exposure and cardiovascular health in residents of urban-industrial zones. Environmental exposure was estimated using passive biomonitoring with Schinus terebinthifolia (Anacardiaceae), based on foliar anatomical, morphological, and ecophysiological traits, as well as heavy metal accumulation. Sampling covered three residential zones with different proximity to industrial sources and pollution gradients. The dataset includes anthropometric, clinical, biochemical, and behavioral data from 80 adult participants. Cardiovascular risk was stratified using criteria established by the Brazilian Society of Cardiology. These data may support environmental health research, particularly in urban areas without conventional air quality monitoring infrastructure.
