* Odds ratio (OR) and 95% CIs were used to present combined influence of baseline moderate physical activity and hypertension on subsequent diabetes.†Diabetes was diagnosed based on venous blood glucose test plus clinical symptoms by registered physicians according to the 1999 World Health Organization diagnostic criterion. Participants with normal blood glucose values were treated as the reference.‡Model 1: univariate logistic regression model.§Model 2: multivariate logistic regression model with adjustment for age, gender, educational attainment, family history of diabetes, body weight status, cigarette smoking, alcohol drinking, TV viewing, vegetables intake and meat intake.∥ Physical activity was categorized into ‘Sufficient’ and ‘Insufficient’ based on the recommendation (at least 150 minutes per week) for adults'.
