For each rateable property a record was created which generally identified the property rated and property owner and includes details of the annual value of the property, the amounts due, amounts paid, arrears, and when rates were abandoned. Chronological arrangement by ward. Between 1894-1902 arranged by the former wards of Birkenhead, Drummoyne and Bourke. 1903 onwards arranged by the wards designated as North, South, East and West. From 1903 each volume held a three year rateable period
