资源简介:
This dataset describes the concentration of dissolved (<0.2 micron) aluminum (dAl) and dissolved manganese (dMn) collected during seasonal cruises in 2018 and 2019 as part of the Northern Gulf of Alaska LTER site (NGA LTER). Surface samples for dAl and dMn were collected on all cruises using a towed system deployed on the side of the ship that served to pump water into a trace metal clean sampling station on the vessel, and samples for depth profiles were collected on the spring 2018 and summer 2019 cruises using a trace metal clean sampling rosette. Concentrations are reported in nanomoles per liter seawater (nM) and the file format is .csv, with one file per cruise. Aluminum and manganese are lithogenic elements that mainly enter NGA waters via freshwater input. Aluminum is not required for biological processes while Mn is a micronutrient, but it is not a limiting nutrient in this area. Together Al and Mn data can contribute to understanding the inputs of iron, whose availability has been shown to influence phytoplankton communities in this region.
