POOR QUALITY AUDIO. Muhammad al-Fawarna (100 years old from al-Barriya (the Wilderness)) interviewed by Iman Shawawra on 17 May 2006. <br>He discusses the following: locust plague that came from Jericho; people got rid of the locusts by digging holes in the ground and burning the locusts inside, as well as placing poison in some roughage (nikhale); two types of locust, both were very large and ate everything; widespread disease as the plague lasted 3 months. <br>Original audio recording: cassette tape. Transcript: word for word. In the original collection at Bethlehem University this cassette tape was categorised as File 21 of Box 18. <br>This fileset exists as part of the Ottoman Empire and World War I collection within the Bethlehem University Oral History project of the Planet Bethlehem Archive.<br>
