资源简介:
The goal of this project is to generate whole genome sequences for a new panel of wild-derived inbred mouse strains developed from wild-caught mice. Each of these "Nachman strains" immortalizes a unique wild haplotype sampled from one of five locations across North and South America: Saratoga Springs, New York, USA; Gainesville, Florida, USA; Manaus, Brazil; Tucson, Arizona, USA; and Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. These sampling locations are defined by distinct ecosystems and climates, including tropical rainforest (Manaus), desert (Tucson), temperate forest (Saratoga Springs), prairie (Edmonton), and wetland (Gainesville) habitats. As a result, wild mice from these regions have been subject to distinct selective pressures and have evolved unique morphological and physiological adaptations to their environments. These new strains are expected to be broadly useful for basic, biomedical, and preclinical research.
