Biomphalaria sudanica s.l. genome and transcriptome

Here we generate and annotate the genome assembly of Biomphalaria sudanica sensu lato, a species responsible for Schistosoma mansoni transmission in lake and marsh habitats of the African Rift Valley. Schistosoma mansoni causes intestinal schistosomiasis predominantly in sub-Saharan Africa where ~90% of infections occur. Our Bs111 genome is assembled using long-read PacBio sequences, which has been annotated using both long- (PacBio) and short-read (Illumina PE150) transcript sequencing. We also conducted whole genome sequencing of four other inbred lines of B. sudanica (163, KEMRI, 110 and 5-2).
