资源简介:
The Orbiting Solar Observatory (OSO) series 1 & 3 - 8 collected solar
UV data in the years 1962 - 1978. Many instruments were used to
observe in various wavelength bands, tabulated below.
The data consist of photon fluxes in certain wavelength bands,
recorded in tables, plots and catalogs on microfiche, and on digital
magnetic tapes. The instrumentation and quantity of data improved
with succeeding spacecraft in the series.
OSO Experiment Wavelengths Time of Coverage
1 Solar Spectrometer 170 - 340 A 3/7/62 - 5/15/62
Solar Flux Monitor 3800 - 4800 A ' '
Sol. H. L-alpha Flux Mon. 1050 - 1230 A ' '
3 Solar EUV Spectrometer 1 - 400 A 3/8/67 - 8/ 6/68
4 Solar EUV Spectrometer 300 - 1400 A 10/20/67 - 11/29/67
5 Sol. EUV Monitor 280 - 1030 A 2/ 5/69 - 7/19/71
6 Sol. UV Scanning Spectrometer,
Spectroheliometer 300 - 1400 A 8/12/69 - 5/12/70
Study of Sol. He I, He II, 180, 256, 304,
O and N Radiation 537, 835, 991,
1175, and 1216 A 8/11/69 - 10/ 3/70
7 White Light Coronagraph & 3900 - 6500 A EUV Coronagraph
8 High-resol. UV Spectrometer 1050 - 2300 A 6/23/75 - 9/30/78
Data sets from the above experiments are held at NSSDC. Some solar
data still is held at Principal Investigator institutes. OSO 5 and 7
UV data are held by W. Neupert (301-286-3756), NASA/GSFC. OSO 8 data
are held by C. A. Barth, Univ. Colo. (303-492-7502), and access is
possible for members of the PI team.
