The folder named "MAFS-PMI dataset" contains the multi-angle and full-Stokes polarization multispectral images (MAFS-PMI) dataset. The folder named "MAFS-PMI experimental data" contains experimental data captured to further obtain the MAFS-PMI dataset. The folder named "MAFS-PMI generation code" contains the software code and supporting files to process the MAFS-PMI experimental data and then generate the MAFS-PMI dataset. Details are as follows:
The processed image data of all 12 objects is packaged into "MAFS-PMI dataset.zip". The image data for each object is stored separately in a file labeled as "Object_xx.mat". For example, the file labeled as "Object_01.mat" stores image data for the first object. The data in each file includes 13 variables: a variable for the spectral bands of the liquid crystal tunable filter (LCTF), a variable for the fast axis angles of the quarter-wave plate (QWP), a variable for the incident linear polarization angles of the LCTF, a variable for the preprocessed multi-angle polarization multispectral images, four variables for the derived Stokes polarization multispectral images, two variables for the derived polarization angle multispectral images, and three variables for the derived polarization degree multispectral images. The raw experimental images of all 12 objects are packaged into "MAFS-PMI experimental data.zip". The folder labeled as "Object_xx" contains images captured for each object. For example, the folder named "Object_01" contains images captured for the first object. A total of 40392 images are captured for 12 objects, accounting for 631 GB. See the file labeled as "readme.txt" in the package for more details.
The experimental data are processed using MATLAB R2019b software to generate the MAFS-PMI dataset. The software code and supporting files that generate the dataset are packaged into "MAFS-PMI generation code.zip". The file labeled as "dataset_generation_main.m" is the main program to process the experimental data to further generate the dataset. The file labeled as "text2trans.m" is the function required to run the main program, implementing the interpolation of the various spectral responses to the same wavelengths. Spectral response files (.txt) for all devices named by their items are provided in the folder "Optical devices", which is also called when running the main program.
