Avro Nighttime Cloud Segmentation dataset

The proposed dataset comprises nighttime sky images collected from Dublin (Ireland), Chittagong (Bangladesh), and Brisbane (Australia) between December 2024 and January 2025, using a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, OnePlus 9RT 5G, and iPhone 13 Pro, respectively. Images were selectively cropped and resized, with capture time and cloud coverage considered during collection. Binary segmentation masks were manually created using Roboflow's polygon annotation tool, distinguishing cloud regions from the surrounding sky. Cloud boundaries were identified based on visible luminance and texture differences, with uncertain boundary regions excluded from the foreground masks.
