资源简介:
Peri-implantitis is one of the most common biological complications that may occur after dental implant placement. It is characterized by inflammation of peri-implant soft tissues accompanied by progressive loss of supporting bone around the implant. The development of peri-implantitis is influenced by multiple local and systemic factors. This article analyzes the main etiological and risk factors associated with peri-implantitis after dental implantation. Particular attention is given to the role of bacterial biofilm formation, poor oral hygiene, history of periodontal disease, systemic conditions such as diabetes mellitus, smoking habits, and prosthetic complications. In addition, the importance of early diagnosis, proper implant maintenance, and preventive measures for reducing the risk of peri-implant diseases is discussed. Understanding these factors is essential for improving long-term implant success and ensuring stable functional and aesthetic outcomes in implant dentistry.
