Susceptibility genes identified by functional genomics were knocked-out by CRISPR/Cas9 in Brassica napus to render this crop more resistant to Verticillium longisporum infection. The underlying molecular mechanisms are elucidated based on comparative transcriptomic analysis between wild-type and mutant under mock and infected conditions (6 dpi).
