Dynamic evolution of a sex-linked region

Sex chromosomes often evolve exceptionally fast; however, the underlying processes are under persistent debate. Here we analyze a new haplotype-resolved assembly of the dioecious dwarf willow Salix herbacea (Salicaceae) together with population samples and published data from closely related species.
