Tranmission electron micrograph of a representative untreated sac1∆ mutant cell. SAC1 encodes a phosphatase that converts phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate (PIP) to phosphatidylinositol (PI). sac1∆ mutant cells have fewer normal vacuoles than wildtype. (10,000X). An image of the same mutant treated with sertraline is available as CIL 40433.
