The transcription factor Spic regulates inflammatory responses and iron metabolism in activated macrophages. We used microarrays to uncover genes regulated by the transcription factor Spic in bone marrow derived macrophages. To identify Spic-regulated genes, we isolated bulk bone marrow cells from wild type and Spic-deficient mice and cultured them under conditions promoting macrophage differentiation. The resulting BMDMs were exposed to LPS or control and their gene expression were analyzed by microarray.
