This dataset contains preliminary characterisation and proof-of-concept data for spatially resolved light–pigment interactions in cyanobacterial cultures and bioprinted constructs. The study focuses on three cyanobacterial species with distinct pigment compositions and photoacclimation capabilities: Synechococcus sp. PCC7002 (constitutive chlorophyll a and phycobilisomes), Synechococcus sp. PCC7335 (far-red light photoacclimation [FarLiP] and type III chromatic acclimation), and Acaryochloris marina RCC1983 (constitutive chlorophyll d). An accompanying PowerPoint presentation is provided to illustrate representative images, spectral trends, and experimental workflow for clarity and contextual understanding. Associated raw and processed data files are organised in separate documents.
