资源简介:
This dataset contains anonymized, cross-sectional survey data derived from the Honduran Questionnaire on Sexuality and Well-being (CHSB) and corresponds specifically to the sexual myths and sexual literacy module used in the study From Myths to Comprehensive Sexuality Education: Toward a Regional Evidence-Based Sexual Literacy Policy.
.
The dataset includes responses from 18,914 adults aged 18 years and older, collected nationwide across the 18 administrative departments of Honduras. Data were obtained through a digital, self-administered questionnaire distributed as part of a large-scale national research initiative. Participation was voluntary, anonymous, and conducted in accordance with ethical standards approved by the Universidad Tecnológica de Honduras Ethics Committee.
Variables in the dataset are organized into two main domains. The first domain assesses sexual myths and knowledge, based on five items addressing common misconceptions related to contraception, fertility, sexually transmitted infection (STI) transmission, and ineffective preventive practices. Responses were recorded using a trichotomous format (true, false, don’t know), allowing the construction of a Sexual Knowledge Index expressed as the percentage of correct responses. The second domain includes sociodemographic variables, such as age, sex, educational level, marital status, and department of residence.
The dataset is suitable for descriptive, comparative, and correlational analyses examining differences in sexual literacy across sociodemographic and geographic groups. Its scope and national coverage provide robust population-level indicators that can be used to support evidence-based sexuality education policies, regional comparisons, and future replication studies in Latin America and similar contexts.
