AtHMGB15 belongs to the ARID-HMG group of proteins in Arabidopsis thaliana. AtHMGB15 mutation results in defective pollen tube germination,however other roles of the protein remains unexplored.The expression of AtHMGB15 increases with the exposure to cold stress in 22 days old seedlings. Chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) of AtHMGB15 together with chromatin profiling by ChIP-on-chip analysis revealved AtHMGB15 binding site and demonstrated AtHMGB15 genome wide putative targets under both control and cold condition.
