Nature of problem
The complete fusion cross section is calculated as a function of energy with a semiclassical friction free model. No allowance is made (1) for energy and angular momentum dissipation due to particle emission (e.g. 4He/1H,) prior to fusion and (2) for loss of low partial waves due to highly inelastic events.
