Prunus persica cultivar:O'Henry Transcriptome or Gene expression

Peach (Prunus persica) is one of the most important stone fruit crops worldwide, however is threatened by numerous fungal diseases including Monilinia fructicola. Chitosan has a direct antifungal effect, whereas it might act as an elicitor capable of activating defense response in plants. In order to decipher the transcriptional expression profiles in the peach-chitosan-Monilinia fructicola pathosystem, an RNA-seq analysis at fruits was performed at 12, 24, and 48 h after infection. The samples for RNA-seq were obtained from fruits treated with chitosan, fruits inoculated with Monilinia fructicola and fruits both treated with chitosan and inoculated with the fungus. Non-treated and non-inoculated fruits were also analyzed.
