Gut microbiota of peanut-allergic young children changes after 1 year of oral immunotherapy

We aimed to evaluate the effects of 1-year peanut oral immunotherapy (OIT) on the gut microbiota of young children (1-3 years old), and to compare the results with peanut-allergic children that continue with peanut avoidance. Fecal samples from baseline and 1 year follow-up were analysed and gut microbial community was characterized by 16S rRNA sequencing.
