Nuclear envelope impairment is facilitated by the herpes simplex virus 1 Us3 kinase

Nuclear pores elarge in cells infected with herpes simplex virus 1 (HSV-1). Capsids, which are assembled in the nucleus, may gain access to the cytosol through impared nuclear pores in addition to bdudding at the inner nuclear membrane. In the absence of the HSV-1 Us3 kinase, nuclear membranes are produced in excess and impairement of nuclear pores is reduced in number and size.<br>
