Distribution of microorganisms along slopes in the Chilean Coastal Cordilla

We investigated the distribution of microbial community compositions along four different slopes along the Chilean Coastal Cordillera and analyzed the influences of slope aspect on the microbial community composition. We sampled 4 study areas (Pan de Azúcar, Santa Gracia, La Campana, Nahuelbuta); South-facing toe, mid and top slope profiles; North-facing mid slope profiles at 5 depth increments (0-5, 5-10, 10-20, 20-40 cm, saprolite). Sampling was done for two soil profiles each.
