资源简介:
"Mädchen u. Kinder haben ihre besonderen Reigen. Im Gegensatz zu den heidnischen Volkstänzen haben diese einen gefälligen und vornehmen Rhythmus (vgl. auch Erklärung zu 813/814)" ("Girls and children have their own dances. In contrast to the heathen folk dances, these have a pleasant and dignified rhythm (cf. commentary on 813/814)"). Girls performing a round dance holding hands. Some of them wearing garlands on their heads.; In correlation with photos nos. 813, 814 and 816, album no. 3. -- The addendum "D." Gutmann in the caption of photo no. 813, album no. 3 suggests that the photo might have been taken after Gutmann received his first honory doctorate in 1924. If, furthermore, the ascription of Guth as photographer is correct, the photo was most probably taken between 1927 and 1938. Seeing that photos nos. 813 and 815, album no. 3 were possibly taken on the same occasion, the dating might also be the same. -- Wilhelm Guth (1888-1980), from Zeiskam in the Rhineland Palatinate, studied commerce before joining the Leipzig Mission as a pastor. He served in Gonja (southern Pare) from 1913 to 1917 and from 1927 to 1938. He left a large number of photographs, mostly taken by himself but including some by members of his family or fellow missionaries.
