Analysis of Risk Factors for Type 2 Diabetes in China: A Meta-analysis of Demographic indicators and Biochemical Parameters

This dataset comprises a structured collection of epidemiological association data extracted from published cross-sectional and case-control studies examining risk factors for Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) in the Chinese adult population. It includes a total of 20 risk factor categories, such as age, sex, family history of diabetes, obesity (BMI, central obesity), hypertension, dyslipidemia, smoking, alcohol consumption, and physical activity. For each entry, the dataset provides the original Odds Ratio (OR) and its 95% confidence interval (CI), along with the calculated natural log-transformed values (lnOR) and the standard error of the log-OR (selnhr), making it ready for immediate use in meta-analyses, forest plot generation, and sensitivity analyses. The data were sourced from studies published between 2020 and 2025, covering diverse Chinese populations including urban elderly, rural residents, and specific ethnic minorities (e.g., Mongolian, Hakka). A companion data dictionary is provided, detailing variable definitions, inclusion criteria, and calculation methods.
