NRS-20196 | Cash Book (Reserves Improvement Fund) [Hume Pastures Protection Board]

This series is comprised of cash books for the Reserves Improvement Fund at the Hume Pastures Protection Board (in the Holbrook area). The Pastures Protection Act 1934, Section 16, states that, "Every board shall, in January in each year, cause an account in the prescribed form to be prepared of its receipts and expenditure for the year preceding under distinct heads, with a statement of the balance. Such account shall be duly audited and certified. A copy of such account shall be published not later than the month of March next following in one or more newspapers circulating in the district. Copies of such account shall also be furnished to the Minister and the Auditor-General."Within the series there are three different formats of cash books. All contain the same information. Each double page is divided into Cash (Dr) on the left and Contra (Cr) on the right.The information recorded in the columns on the Cash page includes: date; receipt, nature and number; name; particulars; permit number; ledger folio; Reserves Improvement Fund; how received, cheque, money order, cash; number of receipt butt; particulars on receipt, from whom, on account of; travelling charge of Local Board and other Boards; travelling rate of Local Board and other Boards; fines; costs; sundries; total amount banked.The information recorded in the columns on the Contra page includes: date; name; particulars; ledger folio; cheque number; to whom paid; on account of; reserves improvement; amount, including salaries, reserves improvement and other pastoral Protection Boards; refund sundries; items of cheque; bank withdrawals; acquittance number.
