Seasonal Dynamics of the Gut Microbiota of Ayu (Plecoglossus altivelis) Revealed by a Cross-Sectional Seasonal Survey in Dajing Stream, Zhejiang Province, China

This project investigates seasonal dynamics of the gut microbiota of Ayu (Plecoglossus altivelis) in Dajing Stream, Zhejiang Province, China. Microbial communities from fish gut (and gut contents) and environmental water were characterized using 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing targeting the V3-V4 region (primers 343F/798R) on an Illumina platform with paired-end reads. In addition,diet composition was assessed by COI metabarcoding using primers mlCOIintF/jgHCO2198. Samples were collected across four seasons with biological replicates, and raw paired-end reads are deposited in the SRA.
