The 2023 rainy season in Chad was marked by above-average rainfall and flash floods, which have already had an impact on agricultural production. The Data in Emergencies (DIEM) team at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) examined satellite images regularly from the beginning of the rainy season and triggered this detailed impact assessment due to the increasing trends on the flood extent and impacted cropland.
