Wake Forest Zoning

All properties located within the Wake Forest Town Limits or Extra-Territiorial Jurisdicition (ETJ) are subject to the requirements of specified zoning district. An area within the ETJ is subject to the specified Town's zoning and building regulations, not the county's to enable the Town to better ensure that development patterns and associated infastructure will allow the efficient provision of urban services as the Town growns into that area. The Wake Forest Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) combines into a single document the Town's zoning, subdivison, land use, grading, storm water managment, and historic preservation regulations. It outlines the requirement for all development activity. The Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) was first adopted by the Town of Wake Forest on July 16th 2013. It was Last Amended on July 19th 2022.
