资源简介:
The sixth district of Cape Town, South Africa transformed dramatically during the second half of the 20th century. The notorious urban development legislation implemented by the Apartheid regime is widely known. It was not an isolated or spontaneous act, the government forcibly claimed land from marginalized citizens and segregated the entire country racially, ethnically and economically. Similar to most oppressive regimes, they were incredibly systematic with their actions; therefore, it may come as a shock that the urban planners within the South African government claim that their actions were inspired by the work of Le Corbusier. Today there are still visible scars from the Corbusier-inspired 'surgery' in Cape Town.
