Heating sources breakdown in new homes in Germany 2023

Electric heat pumps are the most common heating source for new homes in Germany. In 2023, nearly 55.8 percent of newly approved residential buildings would have heat pumps installed. Meanwhile, oil has been slowly phased-out of new residential installations and will be banned wherever more environmentally friendly sources are available from 2024 onwards.
